GET.YOUR.GLOW.ON

So recently I've gone on a bit of a health kick.
It started last July when I got really sick and was admitted to hospital.
It was a a bit of a shock coming from someone who never even gets colds.
Basically I realised that good health is a lifestyle
and totally not something you should take for granted.
It's a life skill.
I'll always played sport, but to ramp it up a little, I signed up for a personal trainer at my local gym,
and vowed to make my gym visits regular and not so sporadic.
I've also learnt along the way that the more you exercise the less emphasis you put on your weight, and the more you focus on your WELLBEING and HEALTH.
The endorphins don't hurt either...
So my top 10 tips for a healthy lifestyle?
here we go...

1. Drink lots of water
(you've heard it a million times but the clear skin, glowing complexion are all true. I've been drinking 2+ Litres of water a day since I was 17 and I will never look back, you just FEEL better)
2. Green Tea
(Amazing.... I drink 3+ cups a day, I've never got into coffee so the caffeine from this keeps me going and it's good for you... 2 in 1!)
3. Exercise at least 2-3 times a week
(Recently I've been going 4 times and the extra session has made all the difference. Two of these are group personal training sessions, which keeps the cost down and it also helps to have people suffering along side you. A personal trainer also helps you learn how to get the most out of your gym workout.)
4. Stretching/Yoga
(This can totally count for one or 2 of your sessions, it banishes my stress levels and I just feel refreshed and positive after every session.)
5. Raspberries are great on porridge in the morning
(..and I dont even really like porridge.)
6. A glass of hot water and lemon first thing is amazing
(Kick starts your digestive system and also helps the water you drink throughout the day be absorbed better.)
7. Embrace health food shops
(I could spend 1000's of dollars on all the weird and wonderful products..)
8. Brown rice is yummy
(If you don't warm to it immediately try squeeze some fresh lemon over the top.)
9. Health magazines
(Are full of all fun tips and tricks and help keep you motivated and they tie me over in between the monthly fashion mags.)
10. Keep reminding yourself the benefits to your body
(Perfect for the days when you are less than inspired to hit the treadmill, never push yourself to go to the gym when you don't want to go though, you should enjoy exercising if you want to make it a permanent addition to your life.)
